Rose, Marlene (born Dec 5 1967, New York, USA) Sculptor.

Hand cast molten glass artist. Marlene Rose-Coates grew up inspired by her mother, a painter and her father a sculptor of found objects. Since she can remember she has made art.
Educated at Pomfret School in Connecticut, she continued her exploration of visual mediums at Tulane University in New Orleans. Here she came into her own as an artist, developing her unique style. She held her first solo exhibition before graduation, with a sell-out show at the top gallery in New Orleans. Following this success she went on to graduate school at California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California. She even found time for a Summer Program at Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle, Washington, the birthplace and epicenter of the Art Glass Movement. She has since traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, South America, Africa and the Caribbean gaining even more influences and ideas for her work.
Her goal as an artist is to create life in whatever she makes. In simple terms, she makes the pieces come alive: she reveals the true and unique source of life energy in each creation.
Marlene Rose received a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts in 2007. Her works are included in Permanent Public Collections in Leepa-Rattner Museum of the Arts; Gulf Coast Museum of Art; Museum of Contemporary Art, Yerevan, Armenia, and; Seven Bridges, Greenwich, CT.
Marlene Rose has been featured in Museum shows and has held exhibitions at numerous galleries in the USA, South Africa and Canada.
